This week we’re supporting Mental Health Awareness Week. 1 in 4 Britons are said to be suffering from a mental health condition, Mental Health Awareness Week is concerned with removing any stigma surrounding Mental Health. It’s okay to talk, it’s good to talk, and it’s good to recognize that we are surrounded by situations and circumstance that affect our mental health and well-being.

The theme and main campaign for the week this year is Body Image. Body image is used to describe how we feel about our bodies. Thoughts and feelings towards our bodies can affect our everyday lives. 1 in 8 adults surveyed by the Mental Health Foundation felt suicidal because they felt so unhappy with how they looked, better body satisfaction has been linked to better overall well-being and fewer unhealthy dieting behaviours. Body image surrounds us in our day to day activities, in social, in work, in the media, and it’s vital to emphasise that we need to support diverse Body Image and Identity.

We’re following the #BeBodyKind campaign and supporting a positive outlook towards body image.
